Ode to SOS II
I love You like
Food is for survival but it feeds the soul
One day rushes in another makes you wait
Something happens when God’s children sing
Hearts joined back together made whole
A sailboat wedding have we
Bride-to-be steps out onto aboard
To enjoy sometimes endure
The sea
It’s a party for everybody but
Underneath it’s about we
Before the boat pulled away from safety
It was you and me
But entering the deep we
Tied together with Heavenly
Knot
Knitted perfectly
And are still yet free to be
Individually called designed seen
How lovely the harbour in fine weather
But beyond
We need to work together
We move in unison a picture of
Oneness-forever
Bride and Groom walking on these waters
A wedding under clouds and blue before supper
White wedding right attire for
The more
That we’ve always been looking for
Waiting to be adored
And to adore
Bride and Groom will sail only a while
‘Till land is finally reached
This very moment
When boat hits shore
What else for centuries has man been preaching for?
To return hand in hand
Ready for honey
In a new
That shines needless of a moon
Needing not a sun
For that glow will now come
For His bride from the Groom
So hold your glass tight lift it high now
Take your holy bread
We’re sailing
Still
‘Till all the vows are said
Moving out on the water in merriment
Looking out over the water
For a moment longer yet
The scene is decorated for fun
But today is also a serious one
It’s about promise
Weighty as the ship that holds
The sail that strengthens when wind blows
The look on the face of the bride
Says I’m here to be by Your side
No matter the pull of tide
In and amidst the mystery of floating
The Groom does some heartfelt boasting
He is the Captain of this love
He steers the direction of this dance
In the distance rings a bell
It’s faint but one by now we all know well
Sounds and sights on this sea
Are what we were made to hear and see
The distant shore now appearing closer
Makes the returning easy to believe
